John
John’s extensive knowledge of fabrics comes from many
years of working with textiles, starting out in weaving and
printing mills then moving into the retail sector. He now
uses that experience front of house advising customers on
blind and curtain styles, pattern, texture and colour.
About us
Ann
Ann’s early role was as bookkeeper but her passion for
interiors soon led her towards a more hands on approach.
After completing an Interior Design Diploma with the
National Design Academy and training as a Curtain and
Blind maker Ann took on the role of full time curtain maker
some years ago. She now has her own Open Workroom
at the back of the shop where clients can see their Curtains
and Blinds being handmade on the premises.

As a husband and wife team our passion for beautiful
home furnishings led us to open a small fabric shop in
Hazel Grove back in 1992. Since those early days Material World Interiors has gone from strength to strength and
our bigger, brighter showroom in Great Moor houses far more than just furnishing fabrics. From the moment you step inside our relaxed showroom to browse, right up to
the day we fit your new curtains or blinds you will always be dealt with personally and professionally by one of us.
